Need a 10- 15k smartphone with max. pixel density for VR

New Requirements:
Booting up the old thread as looking to buy a new phone within a week or two.

1. Budget?
18k and below

2. Display type and size?
5" - 6"

3. Dual sim?
Yes

4. Preferred choice of brand?
Coolpad's software wasn't very smooth, so don't want any brand with crappy UIs

5. What camera option you want (flash, front facing camera)?
Any decent camera will do

6. Preferred operating system? (Android, iOS, Windows Phone, etc).
Android

7. Preferred connectivity options (3G, 4G ready).
4G.

8. Primary use of handset (multimedia, camera, internet, gaming etc)?
General use, VR, browsing, multimedia.

9. Any specific mobile phones in consideration?
Refurbished Nexus 6, Moto G5+, Lenovo Z2+

10. Any other info that you want to share:

  • Don't want a phone which slows down after a year of use.
  • Le Max 2 has everything I'm looking for, but it doesn't has a 3.5" jack.
  • G5+ has a rel. weaker proc. and GPU and I don't know if it will be able to handle VR at high FPS.
  • I can only buy Nexus 6 if it's refurbished.
  • Z2+ hmmmm...

Original:

Hey everyone.
So VR and AR is picking up steam and I'm thinking of dipping my toe in development, for which I need a smartphone. I've tried a 720p phone and Google Cardboard, but the resolution is just isn't good enough. I reckon it needs to be minimum full HD, preferably 1440p.

So I'm looking for a phone:
  • Within 10 - 15k range. Can go a little higher (Max 20k) but only if its worth it.
  • With at least full HD resolution, preferably 1440p.
  • With A good camera, preferably with OIS.
  • MUST HAVE Snappy performance.
  • With Good battery life. I don't mind the phone being thick and heavy.

eBay has LG G3s without warranty for 10k and G4s for 15k. Both have 2560x1440p screens and cameras with OIS. Do you think they are worth the money and risk?

You can go with le 2 max.

Camera is good but lacks OIS also le eco software support is not good they are very slow at providing updates.

How is the software on Letv's phones? Play store won't even let me install Cardboard app on my coolpad phone, OTG wouldn't work properly, and the interface was just not polished enough, compared to the likes of Xperia phones. I don't want such issues anymore.

Then you are out of luck as far as i know no 4k phone is available for 20k your only options are refurbished phones but they are risky to get.

Any other phones with 2k screen in the price range?
I'm willing to look into refurbished phones if there's manufacturer warranty. Please provide links.

Google cardboard is the low end VR for phones, if you want a better experience, get a Daydream certified phone like galaxy s7/edge

Search overcart and see if you can find anything.

Found a Nexus 6 for 11.5k but it's pre-owned. I don't like that and I don't know how reliable and trustworthy overcart is. Does anyone here has any experience with it?
