Only one company provides...mtnl triband modem...
company : Dlink...
model number : GLB-502T...

and the reason i am selling this modem is the i registerd for triband on 18th oct 2006..but till now there is no net conncetion they provided to me...so i canceled the application for triband...and the modem is working perfectly...
i checked it at ym freind house..where it was used for 2 hours continously..and if anything goes worng..bill is provided with it..and also person who buys it..will meet me....


i bought it for Rs.1654..with bill....on 18th oct 2006..
so i m expceting about Rs.1400-1500...

Just for ur general knowledge there are many ADSL 2+ modems which are compatible with Triband. Maybe you are only aware of Dlink as MTNL provided it to majority of the subscribers but now they are providing UTStarcom modems to new subscribers.

How can you check modem at your friends house as, as per my knowledge ADSL modem need some configuration by Service Provider?

^^^The configuration is as easy as eating a cake! So its easy to check whether a modem is working perfect at a friend's place...

Than why MTNL ask us to Bring ADSL Modem to Office for Configuration, I think they configure it to work only with the Phone Number alloted to same peopel so any one can not chat by using Band width.

MTNL have technic to let the user to use MODEM only with his Own Phone Number and I think you can not configur this phone Number at Friends house or with Friend.

When does MTNL tell to

Bring ADSL Modem to Office for Configuration,

I bought my own Router, configured it and have been using it for the past 1 year without any glitches..

The Router is usable on any line that has ADSL2+ enabled on it..

You just need to change the login id and passwd from the router's admin page at *192.168.1.1/

As simple as that..

@Stick: When I took Triband, they didn't had a techie available so they told me it will take 10 days more. I told him give me the modem I will configure it myself, he told me the username is ur telephone number and default password is ur CA number.

He took my signature and handed me the box packed D-Link modem. The modem has a easy to understand manual with screen prints to help even a newbie configure the modem by himself.

Its just a three step automated configuration process, way to easy if you know how to install a simple program or a game on ur pc....

and as Darky said u can just change the phone number and password from the admin page of the router and can use the same modem on any telephone provided ADSL is enabled on the line.

Yaar,

It means MTNL Officer make me FOOL, they asked me to visit office with modem if purchsed from Mkt, and than they will configure it and only than I am able to use ADSL service.

for creating new connection...
enter..ur tel number aas username and CA number as pass which is given in top of tel bill...

and enter VCI as 32..
ur done..
save the setting and reset the modem ur done..

^^^Upto save the setting is right, but you dont RESET the modem...

If you reset the modem, factory settings are restored and ur configuration is lost....

Just Press Save and Reboot button after the configuration is over...
