monitor resolution changed automatically!!!

Hi

I have a desktop PC with the following config
i3 - 540
4 GB DDR3-1333 RAM
500 GB HDD
ASUS P7H55 - M LX motherboard
ZOTAC GTS 450 1GB GDDR5
LG 20" W2053TP monitor

running Win7 Ultimate x64 and i have connected my monitor with DVI cable from my card.....

2 days ago....when i switched on my system.... i saw my win7 startup screen changed to that of Vista and my resolution changed from 1600x900 to 1024x768....

when i read some threads, i found that the vista startup screen appears when the native resolution of the monitor is below 1024x768.....

I first thought it was a problem with the OS....but when i freshly installed the OS.... still the resolution is 1024x768....at most i can change it to 1280x720...not more than that......

What could be the problem?????? is that related with my card???

done it.....running with the latest drivers......

first of all isolate the problem.connect monitor to dvi port on your mobo & use intel graphics to change resolution.if successful then problem is somewhere with graphics card setup.if still same result then problem runs deeper.
