My uncle recently purchased a computer. Its config is given below:
C2D 2.4GHz, Intel G33 original motherboard, 1x2GB RAM 800MHz(Transcend), 400W SMPS, 19" LCD(LG).

Last few days, it is behaving weird. The display automatically goes blank(not power-off) after the boot. After power-off the monitor and then ON it, it goes blank after few seconds.

I checked the RAM and replaced it in other slot? I checked for cable connections..Still the problem persists.

One more thing..I get a shock when I touch the back panel of the cabinet..So its possibly not earthed properly. Could that be a problem?

If u have graphics card installed , then try to remove and put it again correctly. Yes u will get a shock if ur earthing is bad :( , Call an electrician to check the earthing :)

Not sure if bad earthing can cause monitor blanks, but it definitely decreases the life span of all the electronic components drastically. Get that checked irrespective of the monitor problem..
For the monitor, try checking it in one of your friends' system.. chances are, you'll know if the problem is inherent in the monitor, or if it is due to the CPU or earthing issue.
