It lacks amoled screen. Frankly, a Poco F1 with AOSP based rom and gcam would be a better option than Nokia 8.1. (IIRC it won MKBHD's blind shootout test).

Consider Redmi K20 or K20 pro, forget about ads in miui as I am using one & after spending ~1 hour configuring various options I never see any ad in miui.No need to root/install custom rom for now as miui 11 works just fine but good to have the options to use it in future(which is not there in realme phones btw).

Oneplus 7, if you don't mind missing out on additional cameras, it has dual speakers. Or Redmi K20 Pro (even non-Pro as it has the same sensors) will suffice. K20 series doesn't have any ads, confirmed by Xiaomi, like Poco.

Realme X2 Pro has good hardware but not so good software, so I don't recommend Realme, Oppo or Vivo phones. Last I used, Huawei had better UI than those.

I would bet that Samsung Galaxy S9/S9+ has the best camera at that price, 28k/35k. But overall OP7 looks like a better buy to me because of better software updates, Android 10 will be the last upgrade for S9, whereas OP7 should receive 11 as well or even 12 by the looks of it, OP5 will receive Android 10. I would say Oxygen OS of OP is the best custom UI, followed by One UI of Samsung, as I find stock android too barebones, your mileage might vary. OP7 has OIS which helps a lot in low light, like S9, so it should deliver better low light pics.

that was a lie as some K20 users reported ADs shown in Mi Community though iirc some threads were removed.
I am using K20 & after configuring/turning off various recommendation options,I have yet to see a single ad in miui.Of course this does not incl ads shown in mi browser(same as chrome) or notifications from mi music/mi video recommending playlists & songs(I actually sometimes check these out so haven't turned them off). There are also update/news alerts from mi browser 1-2 times in a day but again I check them so let them enabled.

Maybe those people believed Xiaomi that there are no ADs so didn't do all this.

Xiaomi said no ads in system UI & such, never said anything about no ads from Mi apps. So if some Mi app is showing ads & pushing it, you can't blame Xiaomi, many apps do that. I think Samsung Mall app does that for Samsung. Even Samsung's game launcher app shows ads at bottom & recommends games (i just use its background features, no longer open it in foreground).

iirc, on twitter, lot many times they said - No ADs. even in the beginning they tweeted No ADs. when users said there are ADs, then they said in other apps but not in system apps.

regarding ADs, YT shows ADs.
