First of all, I know so many questions, but thanks a ton in advance!! Budget Rs 20K or below..

I'm considering these, Should have at least 6GB RAM..One of the primary uses would be to use for rooting..I understand that it maybe risky..

Other uses maybe programming, ethical hacking, stock trading etc & maybe bulding apps ..

Also, any immediately upcoming models in the same price range/specifications?

Xiaomi Poco F1
Realme 2 Pro (128 GB & 8 GB RAM)
Realme-3-Pro (6GB RAM+128GB)
Asus ZenFone Max Pro M2 (6 GB RAM)
Honor Play
Oppo F9 pro & now there's also Oppo K1 pro

Grr so many options, so confusing!

I know some people here don't prefer Oppo, Realme but may I ask why? Just curious.. They seem to have more or less positive reviews (more than 4 out of 5 on an average on amazon etc) & have been consistent, right?

Please tell what would be the best of the above? Or any other mobile in the same price range/specifications ?

Also, which is better between Realme 2 Pro (128 GB & 8 GB RAM) & Realme-3-Pro (6GB RAM+128GB)??
Realme 2 Pro has more RAM & Snapdragon 660 AIE processor, while Realme 3 Pro has less RAM but Qualcomm Snapdragon 710 processor
Here Realme 2 Pro (8GB RAM + 128GB) it says uninspiring software :( why is that?

Also compared to new phones, screens of Honor play & Asus ZenFone Max Pro M2 seem to look not so great because the new ones offer slightly larger screen area due to the dewdrop or waterdrop notch

1. Budget? Around 20K or below..but can increase it a little bit if necessary
2. Display type and size? Nothing Specific, but shouldn't be too 'fat/thick'
3. Dual sim? Preferable, but would also like to know the non dual sim options
4. Preferred choice of brand? Read above
5. What camera option you want (flash, front facing camera)? But I think any decent camera should be available at that price
6. Preferred operating system? (Android, iOS, Windows Phone, etc). None, but isn't Android generally more preffered?
7. Preferred connectivity options (3G, 4G ready). Hmm sometimes I think 5G but I guess 4G should be fine as 5G is away & would be expensive initially
8. Primary use of handset (multimedia, camera, internet, gaming etc)? 1) Using it for programming & ethical hacking 2) Marketing of my company's products via whatsapp, FB etc 3) I know this won' t take too much memory but ..Working on google drafts & google keep & other such notebook like apps 4) Regular surfing & opening multiple tabs in chrome 5) Using some trading apps maybe in future 6) Maybe some gaming but not too crazy about it
9. Any specific mobile phones in consideration? None
10. Any other info that you want to share: Should have at least 64 GB internal storage
If there anything else that's trending today in smartphones that would make a difference, please let me know

Oppo & Vivo have not so polished software compared to stock android (M2), MIUI (Xiaomi) or EMUI (Honor). MIUI is good but the ad situation makes it worse.

I think the best performer & camera for 20k is Poco F1 followed by Redmi Note 7 Pro (camera quality is close between the two). S675 is better than S710, followed by S660. Get Zenfone Max Pro M2 if you need an alternative or stock android or notch free experience. I'd say Honor Play has good performance & decent camera but average batter life compared to the competition, so avoid it. I blindly avoid suggesting Oppo & Vivo devices. Realme has decent specs but the OS isn't good enough. RN7P is a good value, get it if you can wait for flash sales or Poco F1 128GB is going for 21k.

I personally feel no notch is the best solution followed by drop notch, camera cut out (like S10), double cut out (S10+), big notch (iPhones) & big bezels (Sony phones).

Get poco f1, unlock the bootloader, flash a custom rom and install modded gcam from xda. Realme/oppo/vivo phones have crap UIs and trying to replace it with a custom rom is pointless (despite bootloader unlock support).

Xiaomi phones have good dev support. Poco F1 with a stock based ROM & GCam is great as Goku said. Stay away from Huawei, they literally made a U-turn in terms of bootloader unlock & custom ROM support.

Banking apps & some other apps don't work in rooted phones, there is Magisk for that but considering the hoops to jump through I left rooting. I'm happy with Samsung's UI & the amount of customizations provided.
