The Vista builds just keep on coming.
Microsoft made available to testers yet another Windows Vista build. The latest Vista release, No. 5808, was made available to participants in Microsoft's Technology Adoption Program (TAP) late on October 19, testers said.
I'm not sure what's in the new build, other than the expected, continued bug fixes. Microsoft hasn't responded to my questions about what's in 5808 or to whom the company is planning to make available to nearly-done bits.
Jim Allchin, co-president of Microsoft's platforms and services unit, said earlier this week that Vista was close to being released to manufacturing, but that the Vista team would not release the final bits next week, as some had been expecting.
Microsoft released what it characterized as the final, broadscale test build of Vista, Vista Release Candidate (RC) 2 on October 6.
