Couldn't agree more but if they are saving our files in some hidden, unknown folder which we have no idea are being deleted or not then what are we supposed to do?

If even you can't access it without rooting phone then nobody else can either & MS is not interested in your files.

^I don't know why you said that.. there are plenty office apps on play store which are better or equal to ms office apps..
Google office apps are good enough. you can use online from computer or mobile. create another gmail account for office, privacy purpose.
(you can search for paid/patched/modded apk on google for following)

I use all google office apps on mobile, when I am at home I use Microsoft Office (I copy paste content from Google Office apps from online).
don't worry about files compatibility on all android apps or all computer software.
be smart.

There can be nothing better than MS Office apps because it is what everybody else is trying to imitate(whether UI or functionality or format). Note that there is a difference between "better" & "best" because currently there is nothing "better" than Core i7-6950X but at a price tag of Rs.1.5lakhs it is not the "best" processor for a student or someone with average monthly income.
Sure it requires desktop/laptop for serious office work but even then for correctly opening in their intended view format just for reading/finding some thing,one requires MS Office app for sure success(other apps may or may not work).Of course it is not an issue for casual/college/light work but when it is serious office work one can not take a chance that a non-MS office app will work 100% correctly all the time.In fact I don't think I have seen any official(or even non-official claim) by any non-MS product regarding this.
