Magazine and book apps on the Nexus 7?

My father has an iPad2 and I just love the Newsstand and iBooks. I love to read the magazines and ebooks on the Kindle app. Now, when it comes to Android and more specifically the NeXus 7, wanted to know which apps are equally good, if not better?

On my RaZr right now, I have the iReader for books. But what to about Magazines...?
