The Macworld 2008 Conference and Expo (About), organised every year by the IDG World Expo (About), is the biggest Macintosh community event of the year. The Keynote is given by the Steve Jobs, CEO, Apple Inc. It is one of the flagship tech events conducted by the publishing house major along with other conferences like Linuxworld, E3 expo.
A visibly excited Jobs begun the keynote with the previous year performance results like the 4 Billion iPhones sold in the timespan of exactly 200 days, 5 Billion copies of Leopard shipped in 3 months, and the 4 Billion songs sold till date over iTunes. The major highlights of this year was the announcement of MacBook Air (a.k.a. MBA ) - the much awaited and rumoured ultraportable from the Apple Macbook stable and the iTunes Movie rentals.

The announcement of the MBA was preceded by quite a number of things like the Time Capsule - the NAS which is sexy, free update for Apple iPhone, $20 update with five new apps for iPod Touch and Apple TV Take 2. The major disappointment was that there was no 3G iPhone announcement and not much info about the iPhone SDK. As I can see the Reality Distortion Field cast by Jobs is having great effect, I thought there should be an unbiased opinion poll with news sources to clear things up.

*www.blogsmithmedia.com/www.engadget.com/media/2008/01/macworld-engadget-satellite.jpgIt was a big first day at Macworld -- maybe not iPhone big, but certainly big enough. We know most anyone who's not into Apple (and even a few who are) is ready for their regularly scheduled programming to return, and the good news is, for you, the Apple glut is over. But if you're not quite ready to let go (or missed the real-time wall to wall coverage), check it all out below.
