i haf no time to read long articles, but if my memory is correct then the mouse and GUI were invented at Xerox's Palo alto research center (PARC). apple simply took and concept and developed a better ui and enhanced the mouse's functionality. later bill gates too realised the potential of gui after seeing the mac and adopted it.

ps: i trust my memory! :D

Yeah, I also think InfraredDude is correct. I don't any problem is X copying Y, I don't own the stocks of neither. I just need better products :)

I don't mind others using good products too

And if my memory serves me right, there were already systems with GUI before that. But, Xerox' PARC was the first 'commercial' system with GUI.

i haf no clue abt it mehul, but afaik xerox had developed it for research purposes. they did not commercialise them. correct me if i'm wrong.
