Login password in Win10 not working

Hi

I am using Win10 and I was trying to repair errors on my pc using repair windows software. The software asked me to start it in safe mode so I ordered the pc to boot in soft mode. When it started, it asked for password on booting which I put correctly, but it is not accepting it, I tried old pwd too but didn't worked.

So I am now stuck there as I have it's disk but my DVD drive is not working. Will try using OS in pen drive when my office starts, meanwhile is there any other way to get out of safe mode settings or open pc without password?

What other option do I have or I will have to format the C: drive and install the windows again.

And just in case I have to install windows again, how can I copy my desktop data to D: drive using DOS?

Which repair windows software, give exact link/site for it? Have you checked capslock/numlock(better avoid numlock & instead use main number keys in top row)? In worst case scenario your pc might have been infected by malware/ransomware because you use some shady software.

Currently I don't remember the software with which I was repairing windows. But I have avast & anti malware bytes on my PC which did'nt showed any virus & the malware and sometime back anti malware bytes did showed some which were quarantined.

Any ways, what can be the possible solutions now?

In my opinion just format & reinstall windows & next time do not try any "repair software" without at least asking about it on forum & get some good replies. Use Rufus - The Official Website (Download, New Releases) to create a bootable pendrive from ubuntu on another system/laptop & then use that bootable pendrive to copy paste data.
