No one upgrades for "fun"...there is always some reason or the other and most of the times it is a new Windows version...accept it or not.

Won't it be a bit too unfair to compare XP released on 2001 with distros released on 2006?

ofcourse it would be! But I am just pointing out the 'usable-lifetime' of windows xp .
