I am in search of a mobile in the extreme value segment. I have zeroed in on LG KP115, which has:

1. 128x128 screen
2. MP3 Playback
3. Manufacturer Bundled 512MB Memory Card
4. Shop Keeper Bundled 2GB Transcend MicroSD Card
5. FM With FM Recording
6. Cost - Rs. 2,900 Inclusive of All Taxes.

I am not sure if it has JAVA, because I am looking for Java and its box says it has. But I still am not certain that it can run Opera Mini. No website gives me the required information.

So if anybody here has this phone please tell me how opera mini runs on it.

As far as speed is concerned, I don't care if menus are slightly slow. Its not an issue considering the budget range this phone is marketed for. I just don't want lags in realtime applications like FM, Recording, MP3 playback and Opera Mini.

I doubt I can extend my budget, and if I can't get this with java, I will propably ask my dad to stick with his old Samsung X210.

Re: LG KP110 and LG KG195

I have it! It truly sucks great time! Any Menu item , if it opens, it takes ages to open. One of the slowest phone ever found on mother Earth!

BUMP:

I found this in several shops in Bangalore. Seems to be popular with dealers.

Motorolla W230 is priced at 2600, but this phone is also 2600.

It goes by the name LG KP115 here.

Comes with free 1GB memory card.

A dealer here sells it for 2.7K, but offered me extra 2GB memory card for Rs. 200 extra, so it totals to 2.9K, compared to usual 2.6K for phone plus 0.4K for 2GB card excluding taxes. So 2.9K for KP115+512MB+2GB inclusive of taxes is indeed tempting me.

What do I do ?

Coool

I'm Back!:D

kp115 with 512MB & 2GB card @ 2.9k is definitely a good deal.....]
better go for it......
I think it can handle basic java apps like opera mini etc....
even my old Nokia 6070 can handle:p (ofcourse it cant load big pages)....

Re: LG KP110 and LG KG195

I want REAL reviews. NOBODY has any view if it can run opera mini or not.
I value staying connected a lot, and besides, this is for my DAD.
He needs something with good mp3 playback and great FM support.

On the other hand, I too would be using this, but chiefly for browsing the internet and Gmail Mobile.

I am not buying a smartphone here because my dad has no use for one, though I may get myself one somewhere around Q3 or Q4.

So somebody PLEASE tell me how it runs Opera Mini.

bump...

dont expect it to run opera mini ... its highly unlikely that fones in this price range will have enough heap to load opera mini and a webpage ... u might have to contend with the built in browser ...

if u are from bangalore , u can pick up a second hand v3i for about 2.4k to 2.8k ... will fulfill all ur requirements ... but its second hand ... so no warranty ...

see i once used an LG c2500 ... 60mb memory mp3 player et all ... but the java games in those were extremely basic ... so i can confidently say that they wont have the heap

atleast on the c2500 , nothing ... *www.gsmarena.com/lg_c2500-1667.php ... even small java games wudnt install ... let alone opera ...

Thats too bad. Then its as good as a phone without Java.

But how are games for such simple hardware ? Are they any good ?

And I am learning Java this summer. Should I atleast buy it to test my personal programming skills ?
