hello
i have got a new ViewSonic VA1912wb lcd wide screen monitor these are the specifications
16.1" horizontal x 10.0" vertical; 19.0" diagonal
1440x900
500:1 contrast
8ms response time
16:10 aspect ratio
VGA & DVI
but have a problem the screen keeps on flickering only when there is text on screen, i can view movies without any problems. also i cant play any games after i installed the drivers bundled with the monitor, i get the game has encountered an error and needs to close error message. if i uninstall the drivers i can play them
the power plug is of the type used in usa, do i need to use any specific power adapter ?, also i am using intel graphics controler 2 (since my graphics card got busted) my motherboard is intel d865gbf could the problem be because of the under powered graphics card? .i dont know what is the problem, some one help me, what do i do? should i replace the monitor or should i get a good graphics card? or get a good power converter or is it something else?

You onboard graphics probably don't support the odd resolution (1440x900). Getting a better graphics card will help. The problem you describe is a driver error and there's nothing wrong with the monitor. Get the latest drivers from the Viewsonic site and see if the problem reoccurs.
If you get a graphics card, make sure it has DVI. Using the DVI rather than VGA will improve your image quality.
You also need the correct power convertor.

Try using latest DirectX and video card drivers. If nothing woks, maybe the games just don't support the resolution of 1440x900.
