i want to buy a laptop with windows xp. but i have seen most of the laptops offering vista. i cant go for vista since softwares like tally 7.2 dont work on vista.

i checked acer they offer laptops with linux. upgrading to windows xp cost 6000 extra.

hp and compaq dont have drivers available for xp for some models and so not possible to change the os.

dell only has inspiron 1520 available with xp. but i need a 14'' screen.

what shud i do? i dont want to risk installing xp myself since some brands dont have xp driver support.

thx

Mention one model which doesnt have drivers for Windows XP... and regarding the PM which you send !!!

How can Virtualization May help you to run a program like Tally 7.2 which you find not compatible with Windows Vista...

FOr example you may use Microsoft Virtual PC 2007 which is a free product, and can be installed under Windows Vista...

now it gives you a virtual computer under your own Windows Vista... you may install Windows 98SE or XP or what ever you need in side that Virual PC software which you are running Windows Vista...

Read more on the process... *www.chotocheeta.com/2007/09/01/microsoft-virtual-pc-2007/

once you have a VPC WinXP running now install any XP compatible software under that VPC WinXP and start working with it :D

have you thought about OS less laptops? you also have lappys with a free OS. buy one of them and install XP.

have a look at digit's laptop shootout for a good idea of companies.

And ?? I mean what does that mean ?? it is possible that same ZIP file may contain drivers for both Vista and Windows XP...

many times when u download drivers from ASUS / Intel web site for ur Mobo drivers you may see same ZIP file may contain drivers for all Supported Windows OS...
