hello, I am looking to buy a new laptop in the coming days. please help me find the best choice

1) What is your budget ? (INR or USD )
40k INR

2) What size & weight consideration ( if any ) would you
prefer?
Netbook ; 11 " - 10 ” screen or less
Thin and Light ; 12 " - 14 " screen
Mainstream; 15 " - 16 " screen
Desktop Replacement ; 17 " + screen

Thin and lite, mainstream

3) Are there any brands that you prefer or any you really
don' t like ?

any brand will do

4) What are the primary tasks will you be performing with
this notebook?

compiling code, movies, casual gaming ( no heavy gaming)

5) What screen resolution ( s ) & type ( glossy / matte) would
you prefer?

HD ready is fine...FHD not essential

6) Anything else you would like to say ? (eg : local purchase ,
ASS, matte / glossy finish)

looks matter... I would prefer keyboard with backlights

37K, HD (720p), APU Quad core 10, ATI 7670M (more than sufficient for moderate gaming), 1TB HDD, 2.5 GB Graph, 4GB RAM - no backlit keyboard though.

Obviously if you prefer looks, and can compromise slightly on specs front (will be still good for your needs), nothing beats Sony VAIO IMO:

Flipkart's wrong ... there is no Backlit keboard ...
