Amazon.ca Laptops: Acer NH.GM4AA.004 Aspire VX5-591G-54VG 15.6" HD Notebook (Core i5-7300HQ, 16GB, 256GB SSD) Windows 10 Home (French Bilingual Keyboard)

This is another laptop I am looking at. It is a little over my budget but it looks good. 7300HQ is fine. Would this be good or I should prefer 8 gb and get my own 8 gb stick extra? Will that not void the warranty?

My 2nd query is whether 128 gb ssd 1 tb hdd or 256 gb ssd is better? I can use an external HDD with my 256 gb.

If I have a 128 GB ssd, will it not be too small with me eventually having to install applications on my HDD? Eventually slowing down my system.

I have no idea about Acer laptops in USA/Canada but in India most of them have below average build quality.
RAM and HDD upgrades don't void warranty. If there are stickers, well ;-):
I have an Asus T200 and my C: drive has ~15 GB used space (out of 32GB). I have removed all the backup points and useless updates cache. So to think, 128 GB + 1TB should be enough.

Hi All,

The plan got shelved last time as my going to the US got delayed. Please suggest a laptop for around $800. I am looking to get a quadcore laptop to be used for data science/programming. I will buy it in the next week for sure.
