1) What is your budget? (INR or USD)
No specific budget. Looking for a good bang for the buck. Max Budget 1.10L

2) What size & weight consideration (if any) would you prefer?
  • Thin and Light; 12" - 14" screen

3) What are the primary tasks you will be performing with this notebook?
  • Programming - webdev stuff, python, docker, etc
  • Android App development
  • Light Photoshop / Lightroom
  • Excel, Word, PPT

5) Any typical configuration in your mind you're eying for ?
  • 256GB SSD
  • 8GB Ram
  • i5-8th gen

4) Are there any brands that you prefer or any you really don't like?
a. Like: Dell
b. Dislike: Everything else (not sure of After sales support of other brands, please adivce if I am being way too paranoid)

6) Anything else you would like to say?
  • Screen resolution 1080p (Full HD) + Glossy Display (I don't like matte screens but willing to compromise if huge difference in price)
  • Battery back up (super extended 7hr+) should be very good. As portability is very important for me.
  • Purchase place (Amazon or Offline, I don't trust flipkart but let me know if I am being paranoid again)
  • My masi is coming from Canada after a month, so I can get something from there but I don't really want to wait for a month. Bit confused about International Warranty (and if Indian service centers even follow it)
Thanks in advance, really appreciate the help! ^_^

@anupam_pb might have some good suggestions about getting a laptop from Canada.
I'm in US, not Canada. Laptops are more expensive in Canada but Rupee is comparatively stronger against CAD.

@ACidBaseD Dell supports warranty transfer & Asus provides international warranty (check Canadian company website for Asus).

You should be able to afford XPS 13 & 15 easily. Those would be my recommendation. XPS 15 is more powerful than XPS 13 (i5 8300H > i7 8550U).

Avoid i7 8550U as it is barely 10% better than i5 8250U. Also I'd recommend 9360 variant of XPS 13 over 9370 because of the presence of USB Type A ports.

You will save a lot or get a better laptop if you wait for a month.

In India, get Asus UX331 with i5 & 256GB SSD for 65k on sales.
