laptop functioning

i ve got a compaq laptop which i am not using since the last 6 months at all bcoz my office cmptr is faster and has a inyernet connection.will this prolonged non use cause any problems to my laptop which i havent even started once during this time

just remove battery when not using for long

keep it well protected from dust and heat.
