The primary will be solidworks, Pro E, Catia, Autocad
and secondary is mild gaming ( dont mind the quality and details being low), movies, internet.

mostly on the desk.
7) Will you be playing games on your notebook? If so, please state which games or types of games?
plays NFS and some strategy games.
8) How many hours of battery life do you need?
anything decent.

guys i dont want the best config out there but i want a decent one with good build quality and nice keyboard and touchpad and screen. there should not be any heating issues either. Do u think the ilano based ones will be any good for my primary purpose ie heavy CAD apps. and what about warranty of US laptops in India..
BTW i like the DELL XPS 15 L502x with the core i7 2630QM + nvidia GT 540M +6GB DDR3 + 500 GB 7200rpm + B+RG full HD screen and the JBL 2.1 speakers. whats ur opinion about it.
