1) What is your budget? (INR or USD)
45k. Maximum upto 50k.

2) What size and weight consideration (if any) would you prefer?
Thin and Light; 12" - 14" screen Shouldn't be more than 14".

3) Are there any brands that you prefer or any you really don't like?
a. Like: HP, Dell. b. Dislike: None.

4) What are the primary tasks will you be performing with this notebook?

Mostly office work. Working with documents, typing. Watching movies and surfing the web. Using MS-Office 2007 Home and Student ver. Occasional gaming (very light).

5) What screen resolution(s) & type (glossy/matte) would you prefer?
1366×768 seems just fine for me. Glossy or matte, anything is ok for me.

6) Anything else you would like to say? (eg: local purchase, ASS,matte/glossy finish)
The laptop should be of good build quality and lightweight.
Battery should be good enough for around 4 to 6 hrs. of very less demanding tasks like typing etc.

Edit : The laptop should be thin, lightweight and good-looking.
A dedicated GPU isn't required, neither is a optical disk drive.

@a2mn2002 this laptop is for my uncle and he already owns a HP 15.6" model but he finds it too big to carry with him so he is looking for a 14" model.
@RON, the 2420 (i5) looks really nice. Thanks for replying.
