Well most of us know about Knoppix but for those who dont its a linux that can be run off a CD without actually isntalling and no change is done on your hard disk. Remove the CD and restart the system to go back to your installed i.e. Windows/Other operating System.

Knowing Knoppix is a beginner-friendly, 134 page freely downloadable book (released under the GNU Free Documentation License in PDF format) designed to familiarize new users with the Knoppix LiveCD distribution. So download your way to know this great distro.

PS: I have posted it here instead of Open Source Section cuz i have noticed very less people visit that section and most come to this section, learning about knoppix may lead them to that Open Source section and promote Open Source indirectly. So Mods I request you not to delete this thread.

sorry ms press has better books
huh, really ???

Some short answer questions for you.

1) Can i get a copy of those book for free ?
2) Can i make copies of those books ?
3) Can i redistribute those books without their permission ?
4) Does it teach only proprietary microsoft technologies ?
5) Will i have to buy microsoft's software products to take full advantages of contents of that book ?

Its a known fact that the official documentations available from CPAN, CTAN, are extremely comprehensive. Subscription to MSDN costs $$$$, whereas the programming guides available from Python, Perl, PHP, MySQL, Zope and other great sites are the only ones which you'll ever need in order to master that technology.

Another small question if you are aware about CPAN,
is MSDN as vast as CPAN, considering any one language in question, in CPAN's case its Perl
