Hello Frnds
I was watching some sites like
desitorrent, bwtorrent, bushtorrent
I wanted to know is this legal
may be sites like bushtorrent is legal because its a Foreign Originate site
but desitorrent is an Indian
it give latest movies, MP3, religious videos & many other faltu stuffs
It also has many members, terms & conditions, mods
How they can do this.............?
How is it legal..........?
If its illegal why not the Govt Bann this sites..........?

actually my frnd was going to open one torrent site, he has also booked his domain
so i have just stopped him, but to confirm i asked a question here

The torrent sites itself are generally not considered illegal because they do not actually host any illegal stuff on their own servers. But most of the stuff that their trackers track is illegal and if you download them, it is considered illegal, even in India.

Torrents are legal, free distribution of copyright content is illegal.

If its illegal ,India cannot be blamed. Most sites are operated from US...

Now Question is how they are safe till now?....mostly....no site faces action. Complaints are mostly received from Microsoft Piracy Dept. Most people will simple remove the reported content and they are good to go :p

The Pirate Bay does not even remove anything. They send tongue in cheek replies to those cease and desist letters. It's fun to read those. :D
