Damn, Samsung has generally been decent with the M series. Considering they have downgraded both main & ultrawide cameras compared to M51, I thought S750G + 5G from Samsung is easily possible for 20-25k. Samsung M40 was shit, seems like they are carrying forward that tradition with M42.

it is Samsung's tradition as told above.

Likely trying to market the "5G" which no one can use in near future here. Samsung just needed to put a 1080p AMOLED in M42 to make it kill other 5G phones like Moto G 5G & Narzo 30 pro. Anyways, better avoid 5G for now. Even OP phones have very limited 5G band support considering the price they are charging.

looking for 5G is not a bad thing imho as a lot of people use phones for 2-3 or more years. i am using phones for more than 3, one for almost 4 years.

saw someone's reply on twitter that OnePlus has replied to him that they will provide support for more 5G bands in future through OTA updates.

those who like stock android and no ADs will not go for M or F series. unfortunately someone said they have started showing ADs etc. in A, S and Z series as well.

5G might still be 2-3 years away as spectrum auctions are yet to be done.

For a feature that might come via software update is not much to go on.

Samsung doesn't necessarily have full-page ads like Redmi used to, but they push unnecessary stuff in notifications. A lot of it can be disabled at the first boot of the device but sadly not afterwards unless you format the phone.

Until one plus publicly announce it, it should not be trusted. One plus had earlier too turned back from many promises.

imho, it all depends upon the requirements and satisfaction of a person.

5G might still be 2-3 years away but there are a lot many who use phones for 3, 4 even 5 years and that is why i am seeing a lot of people who are first checking whether it is 5G or not - their choice.

even after disabling, Samsung galaxy z fold 2 showed many marketing notifications - personal experience of 2 people.

so sorry but important features like disabled CA in M series or support for more 5G bands which can be activated via software update can not be brushed aside imho but again as i said earlier, it depends upon the requirements and satisfaction of a person.

thanks.

no mobile manufacturer company can be trusted even if it says officially as they all are in the mad race of launching one model after another so software updates are taking a back seat.
Motorola officially said it will give another android update to G5S+ but later removed that announcement and didn't give - personal experience.
Xiaomi officially said it will give one more MiUi update to Redmi 4A, it was there in their list but later removed it from the list - personal experience.
samsung is trying to cash on this by announcing 4 years of updates for many models but i am sure from 3rd year onwards, it will be highly irregular.
