So, is this a sign of my HDD failing?

Yes,this is a sign of failing hdd. Get a new hdd & start copying important data.I suggest getting a ssd this time for OS/programs & 1TB hdd for storage.120gb ssd now costs 1500 only & is enough for windows install & some essential software.

Also,do not assume any hdd/ssd as 100% safe.Always keep a backup of important data in at least 2 different places(e.g.original data in ssd & copy in hdd or original data in hdd & copy in external portable hdd/google drive).

First my PSU, now HDD :(
In any case, I have everything already backed up in my external hdd. Is it possible to give an idea how much time does my current HDD have left before it fails?
Also, I'm looking at the WD Blue as a replacement for it. Is it a good choice?
And I'm not that familiar with ssd's. Which one do you suggest I should buy?

No one can predict the time. WD Blue is good in budget.
*www.onlyssd.com/buy/kingston-a400-120gb-ssd/ Price increased by Rs. 200

Nobody can predict when a hdd will fail,it maybe tomorrow or it may last a year.Just keep using it till it fails but don't save any important data or only non-important data there. WD Blue 1tb is a good option. For ssd you can either get this *www.onlyssd.com/buy/crucial-mx500-2-5-250gb-sata-iii-3d-ssd-ct250mx500ssd1/ which is much better or you can get the cheaper ones like this *www.onlyssd.com/buy/kingston-a400-120gb-ssd/ (price is showing 1700 which doesn't seem right because in search results it shows as 1540 which is what I saw yesterday so don't order it at 1700 or order it from here KINGSTON A400 120GB SATA 3 SSD ) or this KINGSTON A400 240GB SATA 3 SSD

@billubakra maybe because of heavy rains in Maharashtra the cost of shipping etc is increased.
