ok here's the deal...in january i purchased a Creative soundblaster like 5.1 sound card. When i came back and tried to install the drivers from the cd, i got an error saying that i didnt have any creative soundblaster hardware on my comp but it showed the sound card installed in the device manager. So I ignored this.But then, the sound card started being a ***CH, made my comp slower, gave distorted sound at time and also, increased the booting time most of the time to about 5 minutes(on a P4 2.66 Ghz and 256 Mb RAM)!!!!!
So finally when my exams ended, i wrote an e-mail to creative(asia) people stating my problem and got the reply within 16 hours. The creative Asia people say that the sound card i have(Model No. SB0080) is not, and i quote, "a genuine Creative sound card" and told me to go back to the place where i purchased it for more assistance. So okay, i got to the guy, he reads the e-mail and says that he'll send it to the creative service centre or something and tells me that it will take about 2 weeks and most probably i will get a new sound card. 2 Weeks later, I call him up, he says that my sound card has been sent to 'bangalore' for checking and replacement, this is where i got suspicious ,but then he had my sound card. So today, after 24 days, i get my sound card back and to my dismay, its the SAME SOUND CARD!!!!! and the dude at the shop tellz me that they have 'replaced' and it'll work perfectly now. So i come back home and VIOLA...SAME OLD SOUND CARD AND ITS STILL NOT WORKING!
Now, im confused, this guy is an authorized creative dealer, why will he sell a fake sound card? secondly, the sound card came in a proper box with a brochore for speakers and also, the creative sound blaster cd was also there, and if he sent the sound card to the creative service centre....why did i get the same sound card back?
My answer to this....the cheap **S did not send the card to the service centre 'coz he's selling fake sound cards 'coz i dint get a service slips!!!!!!!
So can someone please tell me what to do about this?
Im going to the creative service centre(if there's one in Delhi??) and talking to 'em about my situation...
any other advice?
