Hi,

My dad needs a new laptop. There's a person he knows who wants to sell his Asus 1015E-CY041D Netbook (Asus 1015E-CY041D Netbook (CDC/ 2GB/ 320GB/ DOS) Rs.16336 Price in India - Buy Asus 1015E-CY041D Netbook (CDC/ 2GB/ 320GB/ DOS) Glossy Black Online - Asus: Flipkart.com) to him for Rs. 13,500.

My dad's requirements are as follows:
1. Internet use (he uses an Airtel 3G dongle).
2. MS Word & Excel work.
3. Read PDF and ebooks occasionally.

Is it a good deal or should we buy a new laptop instead?
Any recommendations? Please help.

Depends on how well he knows the person, if its a friend, you are getting a good deal plus doing a big favor to that friend. Plus if that friend finds out your Dad decided to pay Rs3000 more instead of buying cheaper from him, ummm, not nice for friendship. (trust me i have come across similar situation regarding brand new but 2nd hand mobiles being sold/not sold between good friends)

Hi,

His friend won't know if he buys a new laptop instead. But I'm just wondering if the laptop is any good, old or new? Can you guide?

This is the best you can get for Rs13,000..
Most in this class are around Rs18,000 to Rs19,000 with Brazos CPU and cheapo APUs which are equally as shitty as Celeron 2nd gen.
