I've got a video iPod 30 GB which has been working fine all this while. Just to give you background, I was using the iPod today to transfer some videos which I had downloaded from one desktop to another (my own personal desktop, which doesn't have internet on it).

My iPod does not get recognized by my computer, but it is recognized and is perfectly usable on my other computer. Now, on my computer, I went to Device Manager where it said USB Mass Storage Device with a yellow ! mark. So I uninstalled it and plugged it in again. This time, it showed up in My Computer as "Removable Disk Drive" instead of its normal name (Faraaz IPOD) and when I double click it, it says this drive is not formatted.

I checked in my other computer, and my drive still works perfectly fine on this one.

What went wrong?? Why am I having this problem?? And how do I fix it?

I formatted and re-installed windows...which fixed the problem. I tried opening iTunes but it said my registry settings were corrupted. Bah!

As far as I know, and I'll admit to not knowing much about the iPods never having owned one, you cannot use an iPod with two computers simultaneously. You have to reset the iPod (i.e. format it and empty the hard drive) from the iTunes on one computer before you can use it with another. This is done to prevent piracy of media.

As for the registry settings being corrupt, just re-install iTunes and I am sure you should be fine. :)
