The Outsider

Beneath The Eyelids
Instlux is a collaborative project hosted on sourceforge that automates the Linux installation on a Windows system, based on Marc Herbert's web page .

Instlux has been translated into more than 15 languages: albanian, catalan, czech, danish, dutch, finnish, french, german, indonesian, italian, lithuanian, polish, portuguese, brasilian, romanian, spanish, swedish, turkish, ...

Its first releases supported two distributions, Ubuntu and OpenSuSE. However, work is being done in order to support more distributions: Fedora, Mandrivia, Debian, Gentoo...

The final goal is not only to provide a way of installing Linux on a Windows system, but being a tool for a complete migration from Windows to Linux, by getting the system and user information stored on Windows, and writing default values to the Linux installation according to them, easying this way the migration.

Upgrade your windows to a Linux system the easiest possible way: running an installer on your Windows.

Do not worry any more about configuring your system to boot from a CDROM/DVDROM.

Choose the linux of your choice and the media source (from a CDROM or directly from Internet).

Right off the assembly line
This is good news consider I don't have a floppy driver nor a CD-ROM. Too bad there are only two Linux dist available. Hopefully we have more Linux dist choices in the future.
