Hello ,

I recently bought a SATA harddisk and I want to configure it to run in AHCI mode. But to install the AHCI drivers I don't have a floppy drive. I am using AMD Phenom 9750 with mobo MA78GM-S2H with AMD SB700 . Just wanted to know whether a workaround exists to install the drivers wothout a floppy drive.

Thanks in Advance,
Shreyas

Yes, there are couple of ways

  1. Either change the working mode of HDD from AHCI to IDE via BIOS
  2. Or use Software like nlite, to integrate the driver directly to your WinXP Installation Disk..

Thanks.

Thanks a lot. I just changed the mode to IDE in BIOS. Will be using Nlite from next time onwards.
