Installation of Windows 7 in new HDD with old Laptop

Right off the assembly line
Hello
My Laptop Sony Vaio was slow at start up. I showed it in Sony service centre. They told me that the HDD (Toshiba) crashed. I changed with new one HDD (WD). I installed the windows 7 which I was took the back up earlier. After installation, the pop-up message is showing as "Windows could not configure windows to run on this computer’s hardware”. But the loop message is pop-up as “windows could not complete installation. To install Windows on this computer, restart the installation". But, I installed once again the pop-up message in the loop. Can anybody help me to solve this problem?

My Laptop Configuration is:
Sony VAIO
E Series VPCEB26FA
Intel Core i3-350M
Processor 2.27GHz
Windows 7 Home Premium (64-bit)
Hard Disk Drive 500 GB
RAM 4 GB

Legend Never Ends
do you actually install windows through the ui. does "copying windows files" and "expanding windows files" complete? where do you exactly get this error?
