Importing a GPU from US

As the titles says, I was thinking of importing a Nvidia GTX 970 from the US, specifically the Gigabyte Windforce edition from Amazon. The total price was coming to $468 pre-INR conversion.
1. Is it worth it?
2. What kind of warranty can i expect?
3. If a friend of mine gets it from the US for me instead, price would be near about $370, then would it be worth it?

Currently i'm running a Radeon 6970 with i5-2500k

if you are getting it at $370 then yes obviously worth it.

but i doubt if Nvidia gives int'l warranty.

Email Gigabyte and ask if they provide International warranty. Or else you can try EVGA.

Because if the GPU is DOA, it will be a pain in the ass to ship it back to the US and then wait for it to come to India.

afaik, only EVGA provides international warranty and claiming warranty for evga in india can be a painful experience. since you are spending a lot of money, i would advice you to get it from here. peace of mind is better!
