also one of the P-IIIs shows P-II 500Mhz,MMx processor in the bios,y is this?
is it possible to fudge the CPU IDs in the bios?how do i verify?

Run this utility on your systems
*www.cpuid.org/cpuz.php

This will give you detailed info about your CPUs. As for vendor saying that AMD is equal to PIV. He might be right or wrong but the fact remains that he charged you for something and didn't give you the same in return. Generally AMD processors are cheaper when compared to their equivalent Intel CPUs and you are being made a fool by your vendor. Demand wat you paid for.

Hi Gaurav,

I totally agree with "sba". You should get what you paid for.
It really seems that your computer vendor is trying to take you for a ride.

So, what I would suggest is that if you haven't paid him any money yet, don't rush in
and double check the prices, he quoted to you in the bill, with other vendors in your area.

To identify your processor, here's a freeware detection program known as CPU-Z.

Download it here.
