Right off the assembly line
I recently assembled a new system and transferred by old 20GB IDE HDD to the new system. I connected the IDE device to the Mother board as slave and the DVD drive as Master. On booting, there was device drive failure as the HDD could not be detected (IDE HDD had WinXP installed). Can anyone tell me what could be the reason for non detection of my old HDD? My current config is below:

MB: IP35-E
HDD: 250GB SATA
E7200

Note: My new SATA HDD was detected

Make the Hard disc primary.
And try changing the IDE cable. See if the pins in the end of the cable are in their proper positions.
