I compared the following in intel website, i3-2310M and i5-2410M

All features of both processors are the same and only difference is i3 doesn't have turbo boost technology, and graphics Max dynamic frequency of i3 is 1.10Ghz where as i5 has 1.20Ghz

What is turbo boost actually? is it related to overclocking? if yes i dont want to overclock.

so is it better to buy an i3 laptop for which the price is ~5k less than i5 laptop?

Edit 1: both these processors have 2 cores and 4 threads.

Edit 2: all i3 and i5 laptop versions has 2 cores only.

i5= Hyperthreaded which makes a total of 4 cores in contrast of i3's 2.

Turbo boost= Auto Overclock of the processor when doing intensive tasks. Which give a instant performance boost.

In short, if you can afford i5 get it

@thetechfreak , @abhidev I forgot to mention that both these processors have 2 cores and 4 threads.
All laptop processors in series i5 and i3 have 2 cores only.

i would suggest to get the i3+dedicated Gpu(like 520m or 540M) for the 5k extra rather than i5 with intel gpu
