Recently I was thinking of building a pc with i3 9100 processor in India but I could not find it in any online or offline market. but while surfing the net I noticed that dell (model no inspiron 3471) is selling the desktop with the same processor with a very lucrative deal. I just want to know why i3 9100 as a single processor is not available in the market.

Ya, agreed, that's why I want to build it. Basically thinking of gifting a basic PC to one of my relatives. Just wanted to use i3 9100 instead of i3 8100 and the PC from Dell is providing all the necessary specs. But I was just wondering why 9100 is not available in India and how the hell dell get it. Has Intel only made this particular model of processor only for Dell ?

Nope, just fill the questionnaire once. Then we can suggest appropriate config for your budget and needs. Also, don't focus too much on the CPU unless you need it for a highly specific use case.

9100 was available in India but after the launch of ryzen/9100f,it was probably not getting enough sales so dealers here stopped keeping its stock.Dell is a corporate customer so they don't buy from same sources as regular consumers do & can still get 9100.

@SaiyanGoku- most probably I am unable to make my point. I don't want to know the configuration. I am just interested about the market availability of i3 9100.
@whitestar_999 - that is a very good point. I am just curious that if say after buying from Dell the processor goes wrong ,then I won't be able to replace the processor by myself.

What's the point of getting overpriced (if you can find it) i3 9100, when you can very well get 2400G for cheaper than that.

Got your point.
Still, do not go for a pre built just because it has a processor you might want to buy. There are better ones (mentioned above) at cheaper prices also.

@Nalak if you buy pre-built/oem system like dell/hp etc then you only get the warranty as per that oem system which is usually 1 year so for processor you will get 1 year warranty instead of 3 & once warranty is over, chances of you finding a retail 9100 in India are very low.

@whitestar_999 that's the point. I just want to know why finding a retail 9100 in India is very low whereas we can get 10 th gen processor laptop, i3 9100f desktop processor easily but not i3 9100 as a single processor. if someone wants to build with i3 latest-gen then he has to go with either i3 8100 or i3 9100f where you have to put extra graphix .

My guess is Intel &/or its Indian dealers have decided not to stock retail 9100 because of current sales statistics+production shortage hence it is not available here.
