htpc & agp card give your valueable suggestionsafter lying unused for a year i have decided to make my old pc a dvd player cum recorder
its config is as follows
pentium 4 1.7ghz williamate
MSI 845GE mobo
640mb transcend ddr 400
samsung 40gb pata
i have some decent queries please respond
1. my mobo MSI 845GE has an agp 4x/1.5v slot
my question is can that slot agp 1.5v support 0.8 volt cards such as geforce 6600 im afraid that card would burn due to huge voltage difference
i know theoritcally 0.8v/ agp 8x cards may work or may not work with agp 4x/1.5v slot thats a panaroid
i know many of you guys may have used similar agp cards in similar situations so please help me out with your experiance suggest me cards that can tolerate 1.5 volt

i have my eyes set on big fx5500 256mb with s-video out at 1.7k at c.e nehru place would that work
i have 2 crt tvs
one is lg-29" 576i capable with y pb pr so i use it with gigabyte geforce 6150/nforce 430 mobo with hdtv out
second is a 21" sony wega with s-video in so i plan to use it with agp card with MSI 845GE mobo thats why i want a gfx card i wont use any monitor but use tv only
2. i wish to record tv programs so i going for a tv tuner
i think leadtek winfast tv 2000 xp global at 2.5k would be decent as its remote is cool and supported by many linux htpc softwares
is that card available in nehru place ? has any body seen it there or used it??
3. i plan adding some more space
so i think hitachi 160 gb ata 133 7200rpm would be great if more space is required i would add another one later
4. for backup i already have sony dvd rw dru-120c
5. for 5.1 surround i already have a audiligy value2
6. for 5.1 speaker set im little confused im struck between artis x10 mini & z-5300
but i feel they are not good enough as they are analog so i will wait for some more time for z-5500d im saving money for that
for time being i would use altec lansing mx5021 2.1 set i already have them
7. software i have not decided yet
mce 2005 wont run on this config so winxp sp2 with windvd 7 is perhaps ok
later i think mythtv is nice see pcquest magazine aricle on linux mythtv in april 2007 issue or geexbox
but geexbox is still an infant i have tried it so winxp sp2 with windvd 7 is perhaps ok
please help me out with your valueable suggestions especially on agp slot issue
