yeh wrong sec....

for internet explorer its
  • Go to Tools > Internet Options > Content, and in the Content Advisor box, select Enable.
  • In the new window, you'll see four categories: Language, Nudity, Sex, and Violence.
  • To enable blocking, move the slider directly below the categories to the lowest level, then click Apply.
or

for blocking specific site
Go to Tools > Internet Options > Content, and in the Content Advisor box, select Enable.

then click on approved sites--> type the site name--> click on remove--> it will ask for password, type in the password...----> then apply.

Avant browser uses IE engine... Settings in IE will affect Avant too AFAIK...

Note that ppl can still access the site using Firefox, Opera or a proxy...

Try doing this.

Go to C:\WINDOWS\system32\drivers\etc. Edit the Hosts file in Notepad. Add a two Line at Bottom:

127.0.0.1 orkut.com
127.0.0.1 www.orkut.com

So it looks like
Code:
# Copyright (c) 1993-1999 Microsoft Corp.
# This is a sample HOSTS file used by Microsoft TCP/IP for Windows.
# This file contains the mappings of IP addresses to host names. Each
# entry should be kept on an individual line. The IP address should
# be placed in the first column followed by the corresponding host name.
# The IP address and the host name should be separated by at least one
# space.
# Additionally, comments (such as these) may be inserted on individual
# lines or following the machine name denoted by a '#' symbol.
# For example:
# 102.54.94.97 rhino.acme.com # source server
# 38.25.63.10 x.acme.com # x client host
127.0.0.1 localhost
127.0.0.1 orkut.com
127.0.0.1 [URL="*www.orkut.com"]www.orkut.com[/URL]

That should block orkut on all browsers :)

Even then, I think if you enter IP of orkut, you can access it... Try 72.14.209.85
72.14.209.86
72.14.209.87
which I believe are various IPs of orkut as per *www.able2know.com/forums/about81499.html website...
