Firstly,
Welcome to this forum and ya pls DO READ the Rules

Secondly,
You cant sign up for a gmail account dude like you do for yahoo or rediff. You will need an invitation from some other person who has a gmail account he can send you that and then you can sign up.

Request this in the invitation thread. You will find that in the General section.

unlike other free mail providers u have to be invited to use one by an existing gmail account holder.

its like pvt parties - Entry strictly by invitation.

It looks like it will not be necessary to get invited... From Gmail website, I saw a link *www.google.com/accounts/SmsMailSignup1 to signup via SMS... However, this offer is currently not available in India - it is available in Australia, New Zealand, Singapore, Indonesia, Malaysia, Philipines, Thailand, Turkey and the US... If you have a friend/relative in one of these places, you can have them help you signup (either directly give you the signup code, or have them signup and send you an invite)...
