Hello i'm new to the forums,
Been reading around and think this is a way better place to ask for help regarding my problem.
It's actually quite a baffling problem(to me) and for others i asked., I've been having this problem regarding my USB keyboard(Generic e.a Imation/A4Tech/Genius) where in it disconnects/reconnects when the electricity fluctuates in my house indicated by my AVR(Mistui NMC500L Automatic Voltage Regulator (AVR) - FoxElectronics.com.ph) Ticking. Does it disconnect because of lack of power? if so why ONLY my keyboard? the USB Mice next to it isn't effected one bit nor the other components!
Speaking of components this is my PC Specs:
OS: Windows 7 Ultimate 64-bit
Intel Core i5-3550
ASUS P8Z77-V
Corsair XMS3 4GB DDR3 1600(Upgrading soon to Patriot Viper III 8GB)
EVGA GTX 570
Seagate 500GB
Cougar CMX 700w 80+ bronze certified
Cougar Black ATX casing
I'm pretty sure my PSU can handle my entire system with no problem, But why does my keyboard disconnect when a electricity fluctuation(Low voltage?) occurs? more important why ONLY my keyboard? when i'm playing a demanding game wherein my GPU is at full load and a fluctuation occurs ONLY my keyboard reacts! my screen does not flicker, the lights in my PC case doesn't flicker, my GPU doesn't even budge with whats its doing which bring me to baffled by the issue
I've tried switching the keyboard around the 6 USB ports behind my PC with the same end result, tried 3 brand new keyboards with the same results! I'm afraid to ask... but is the fault with my motherboard? But if so why isn't my other components showing any issues? It seems to be power related but why seriously of all my components the keyboard reacts to it?? let alone a generic one!
I also don't use a UPS as brownouts don't happen very often maybe a few times a month, but should i? if so i might as well ask what kind?
Apologies for a long post but i wanted to be as informative as possible with my problem and cover every detail as best as i can.
I've already contacted ASUS support aside from trying a new keyboard they also recommend to clear CMOS for a try and also to reinstall chipset driver but will that really help? btw i'm no technician! i'm not that good with computers just the basics. I've also already contacted my retailer and if need be i could ship it back for testing but in an attempt to save money i'm trying my utmost best to fix the problem and would really appreciate any help whatsoever.
Phew this is one heck of a first post though hehe
Thanks
