Help with Gaming Laptop for around 55k

Right off the assembly line
Hi All,

This is my first post on the forum.

I am looking for decent gaming + Budget laptop (primary use is gaming + browsing + movies)

Budget - 45k - 55k INR
Size 15-16 inches

I play games such as FIFA ,COD, DOTA, CS etc but i am not looking for high specs gaming.. i dont mind playing games at medium settings.

I am confused between the dependency of gaming performance on RAM , CPU and Graphics card. Really hoping to get some help on that.

I have shortlisted few -

Asus K53SM-SX010D Laptop (2nd Gen Ci5/ 4GB/ 750GB/ DOS/ 2GB Graph NVIDIA GeForce GT 630M)
Sony VAIO E15128CN Laptop (3rd Gen Ci5/ 4GB/ 750GB/ Win8/ 2GB Graph AMD Radeon HD 7650M)
Samsung NP350V5C-S07IN Laptop (3rd Gen Ci5/ 4GB/ 1 TB/ Win8/ 2GB Graph AMD Radeon HD 7670M)
Lenovo Ideapad Z580 (59-341341) Laptop (3rd Gen Ci5/ 6GB/ 750GB/ Win7 HB/ 2GB Graph Nvidia GT 630M)
Samsung NP550P5C-S04IN Laptop (3rd Gen Ci5/ 6GB/ 1 TB/ Win8/ 2GB Graph Nvidia GeForce GT 650M)
Samsung NP550P5C-S03IN Laptop (3rd Gen Ci7/ 8GB/ 1 TB/ Win8/ 2GB Graph Nvidia GeForce GT 650M)
Samsung NP350V5C-S06IN Laptop (3rd Gen Ci7/ 8GB/ 1TB/ Win7 HP/ 2GB Graph AMD Radeon HD 7670M)
Dell New Inspiron 15R SE Laptop (3rd Gen Ci5/ 4GB/ 1TB/ Win7 HP/ 2GB Graph AMD Radeon HD 7730M)

From some reviews i came to know that samsung laptops have major heating problems.

I also wanted to know the following
- For low end graphic cards such as these would it matter if its 1gb or 2gb??
- is 3rd gen i7 an overkill on laptops?
- is 2nd gen i7 better than 3rd gen i5?
- is ram > 4GB overkill for playing games on laptop?

I am mostly planning to buy from Online Shopping India - Buy Books, Mobiles, Digital Cameras, Laptops, Watches, Clothing & Other Products at Flipkart.com

So which of the above laptops should i get or do you guys suggest something else?

Thanks,
Abhinav

2nd gen i7= 3rd gen i5 in performance but the i5 will be more efficient. I think for your needs you could go with Samsung 550P- S04

from where that logic comes from???
you can't compare a dual core processor with a quad core one, that too with turbo boost and hyperthreading...
2nd gen and 3rd gen don't have that much performance increase, hardly 10-15% in synthetic benchmarks...
i7 will and always have a large performance advantage, especially in application where CPU comes into play, like video rendering, photoshopping etc..
2nd gen i7>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>3rd gen i5, you just can't equate them...

Might be in specs and benchmarks, we all know 4 is better than 2. In real world performance and especially considering needs outlined above by Abhinav Sharma, it wouldnt matter. Try answering the query?

lol, his needs don't even need a GPU, intel hd4000 will serve him as well, saving some bucks.. :p
but in the list either..
ASUS: best build quality, bad ASS..
Samsungs: s03, ok'ish ASS, graphics rocks, so as sound..
DELL: 15R SE, graphics rocks, best ASS, good build..
Sony: best display, expensive ASS, most stylish
Lenovo: mediocre graphics, good build quality, good ASS..

seeing your needs and games you play, even i5 is an overkill for you.. :p but if you want to be futureproof, buy either dell or samsung..
