Hi,
I plan to buy a p4 2.8/3.2 GHZ with 865GBF chipset.
My useage will be more of games and MP3. Can somebody please suggest me a good soundcard with 5.1 and 5.1 speakers within a combined budget of around Rs.8000-9000.Please do suggest me a good 128MB graphics card within Rs.8000. Also how is the performance of AMD 64 bit processor when compared to P4 2.8/3.2 GHZ

thanks in advance

u r gonna buy P4 2.8c / 2.8e + D865GBF
this board have onboard 5.1 sound card which is quite decent. Just get good speakers, atleast creative inspire 5200, and a good big hall to keep ur sound setup :)

u can get FX5700 for that cost, which is DX9 compatible

AMD 64 is always better than P4s which are still 32-bits, and still lags behind AMD 64 in 32 bits tests too.

Go for AMD 64 processors as they are better performers and are future compatible.
U can get an AMD 64 2800+ for 8K and AMD 3000+ for 10k. The Intel 3.2Ghz is gonna cost u almost the same or maybe more. Go for either a Gigabyte K8T800M or Asus K8V mobo for 5k and 7k respectively.

As for graphics card, go for a 9600pro for 8.5k which performs much better than the Fx5700. The performance of AMD 64 processors is good when using 32 bit applications and will be like 30% more better when using 64 bit apps.
