Help needed to buy new laptop

Hi Guys,

I am planning to buy a new laptop as my old HP lappy died.
I am a moderate user, need to surf web, watch occasional movies, do some office work.

I also have a query on graphic card,
Does having a graphic card enhance display clarity when watching movies or for plain laptop viewing.
Most of the sales guy I talked to told me that a graphcs card will only make a difference when doing high end gaming, else viewing experence is same without the graphcs card.

Your views on above.

I am looking for a laptop with good looks, good display, decent battery life(3 hrs), processor which is not outdated.
Based on my research i have decided on below laptop.

No, graphics card does not enhance display quality. It helps with 3d rendering in games or animation design and will ease the load on your CPU while watching HD movies.
You don't strictly need a dedicated graphics card unless you want to play modern games or do 3d designing. Most integrated cards are sufficient for HD movie playback.

Hi Guys,

Thanks for the useful advice. I know lenovo's got best bang for buck but i am not convinced with how it looks.
I went to an asus store & had a look at

This one looks premium with aluminium body & feels solid, no plasticky feeling, keyboard layout feels user friendly.
I have almost decided on this except for a few doubts :
1. Does having Win 7 HB have any drawbacks rather then Win 8
( I am only light user,)
2. The display says its glare display , whereas some laptops display mention as non glare, whats the difference?
Anybody has any comments on Asus ultrabook display quality, please share.
3. Also most laptops are not coming installed with MS office, does that mean that to use Excel, Word I need to shell out extra 5K, Any way i can user MS office without buying full fledged MS office . Will there be any compatibility issues with Win 7 HB.
