OS : Knoppix , Windows
config:128mb ram and pentium IV with 1.7 ghz processor..
Swap:700mb and linux partition is 5 gb .
My mouse often gets stuck amidst work when i work in linux.
Why does this happen ??

swap size 700mb....
i think it shoud have 188mb appoximately..depending upon ram...
alos if mouse has a problem in Knoppix or Window..and whether R install on harddisk/live

I have hdinstall..but dunno why its so...The speed is pretty good unlike live linux.

Does your mouse get stuck in the console or in X-Windows?

Anyway, if its X-Windows, I am not sure what X Windows server knoppix uses, but anyway, type in the console -

xconf

If you get a menu which allows you to configure X-Windows, enter the information about your system correctly (particularly for the mouse), and everything should work fine.

If not, open your /etc/X11/XF86Conf file, and check the Input Devices section for the mouse settings.

BTW, the correct file is /etc/X11/XF86Config (for XFree86)

if you are using X.org (unlikely), then it is /etc/X11/xorg.conf
