After a long wait, I have finally decided to upgrade my PC. Now my main use of this rig would be entry level/mid level gaming, multimedia (MP3 songs and HD movies) and ocing. I would also use Photoshop, developer tools, Maya 3d (a little).

I am willing to spend about 50-55k (max 60k) to build a decent future proof that will not need any major upgrade for about 2 years. But I would continue to upgrade my computer with time (gfx card for example). Now this is what I have thought about till now

Mobo: Asus P5B Dlx (10,500)-I have heard its a great overclocker

Proccessor: I am stuck between E6300 and E4300. Also, will overclocking these give me as good a performance as an E6600. (Not really as good, but somewhere close.)

Monitor: Definetely a 19" LCD WS, can someone suggest a cheap but good monitor?

RAM: 2 x 1gb ddr2 Kingston 667 Mhz-I am not sure about the price here.

Hard Drive: 2 x 250 GB-I defintely need atleast 500GB as I have a lot of movies, songs, applications etc. Again, what would be the price.

Graphic Card: 7600GT-I havent been playing PC games for quite some time, so this card would keep me happy for the time being playing some older games. I will upgrade once ATI also release their series of DX10 cards. Whats the cheapest deal I could get for this?

These are the main components done. Now, since I will watch HD movies, I will need a good 5.1 speaker. I am really confused regarding this now. I need some advise on this.

I could do with wireless Keyboard and mouse for now. I think it will cost about Rs 800.

Now the other components. What would be a cabinet, which has many features, looks sleek, and can be moddeed easily? I am looking for one with a transparent window. Also, Ive heard its always better to buy a seperate PSU. Would 400W be sufficient to power this rig? Regarding the UPS, I know its an essential part of the system. So which one should I get?

Thanks in advance for the advise. :)

PS Since I live in New Delhi, I would appreciate if you can quote Delhi prices.

Almost the same the same config i am going to buy in a few days

Asus P5B Deluxe - 10500

Core 2 Duo - E6600 (Rs 11400) or go for E6420 (if you can find E6420) E6300 and E6400 are old now. New E6420 and E6320 have 4MB L2 Cache.

Monitor - You can go for Samsung 940BW (not NW) since it has low response time and DVI. ASUS has Good TFT 19 Widescreen Aswell

1GB Kingston at my place is Rs 2450. Delhi must be cheaper by atleast Rs 100

250GB is around Rs 3500

Keyboard, Mouse...you can go for Logitech or Microsoft Wireless combi - Rs 1500 Approx

Graphic Card - I dont know...since i am not planning it now :D

Speaker - you can go for Altec Lancing. ATP3 although 2.1 have very good quality

UMAX has some very nice GAMING Cabinets in India. They do have 450SMPS and 3-4 fans. Cost is Rs 2500 but looks of most of them are awesome :D

ATI is xpected to release their DX10 cards within a month or 2.so i think its better to buy a low end card like 7300LE since P5B DLX doesnt hav onboard gfx.'nywaz no major titles r gonna be realeased in the near future other than Halo 2 (xpect to get by end of May).so u wont be havin much to play

bro ur config is awesome with c2d E6600....but if u can wait for 1 or 2 months ...then the quad core will be affordable (as low as 12k-14k)...so with ur budget u can easily opt for that ...if possi get E4300 and a quad core supporting motherboard...and after 2 months upgrade to quad core by selling off ur E4300...i dont think u will lose out too much...but if u get ur hands on the quad core its gonna be like crazy...

Thats exactly what I am planning. At the moment, I have a strict budget of about 55k, but after a few months, when the quad core prices come down, I will buy that.

Can anyone suggest a good widescreen TFT monitor, and good set of 5.1 speakers?
