Help in choosing a gaming laptop

I am choosing betwwen three ACER Nitro 5 gaming laptops

1) AMD Ryzen 5 3550H, 4GB,
AMD Radeon RX 560X, Cost around 40000k

Which one should I go for? Is Acer Nitro brand reliable? Because they are really much cheaper than comparable models from other brands like Dell.

Hi Thanks a lot for your reply. It has only 3GB of GFX compared to the 4 Gb offered by AMD laptop. Is that difference ok?

Don't buy any laptop with AMD gpu, don't go below GTX 1650 (or 1050Ti).

Also acer nitro series usually has poor thermal performance & couple that with already hot running amd cards,I don't think it will be good in the long term.Stick to nvidia & a laptop with good thermal performance(& buy as many extended years warranty as you can).

Thanks for that. Do you have a brand recommendation. How are ASUS laptops in terms of thermal performance?

Since 1650 is a 60W GPU, cooling it shouldn't be a big issue. Both Nitro 5 & FX505 have decent thermals for the price. I'd say get the 1650 one if OP can, otherwise get i5+1050 for 43k. 1650 is worth the extra 9k over 1050 as it is more futureproof.

Rough performance guide (here), reduce 1660Ti numbers by 10-15% for Ryzen CPU.

Check the reviews all of them. You will get an idea.

ROG = Republic of Gamer series of hardware. Focused on gaming systems.
TUF = a high quality component series of hardware. Focused on high end systems.

ROG - are more oriented towards gamers and enthusiast,
TUF series is more set for stability than going for very high performance

Just a marketing gimmick,in fact asus B350 tuf mobos were so bad in quality that it became a joke forcing asus to improve their tuf b450 series by quite a bit.

TUF is Asus's budget gaming range of products, Asus does market it as higher durability but that will never make up for bad luck which kills most electronics IMO.

BTW get the Asus FX505DT, it has really good specs for the price. I suggested it to a friend of mine and he is really happy with it. Buy the model with 512gb SSD its the cheapest, the model with 1TB HDD is a waste as its 3-4k more expensive with half the SSD capacity.
