<Help> Howto format and install windows using external drive

I dont trust the dvd drive of laptop. Theres some loose connection. It might work sometime and might not the other time...


Now i do have an external (USB) dvd burner.


I need to format my laptop HD and reinstall XP. Is there a way i can do that without using my laptop Dvd drive?

Can i use my external DVD Burner as a first boot device and use it for installing windows XP after formatting the HD ?

If so, kindly guide me how to do it?
