Right off the assembly line
Hello guys, I have currently the following configuration :
- CPU = Intel Core i5-6600K (3.5 GHz)
- MOTHERBOARD = MSI Z170A PC MATE
- RAM = DDR4 Corsair Vengeance LPX, Noir, 2 x 8 Go, 2400 MHz, CAS 14
- GPU = KFA2 GeForce GTX 1060 OC, 6 Go
- SSD = Samsung Série 750 EVO, 250 Go
- CASE = Corsair Carbide SPEC-03 Red LED
- POWER SUPPLY = Cooler Master B600 v2, 600W

I already bought the following components during promotions :
- SSD = Samsung SSD Interne 970 EVO Plus NVMe M.2 (1 To)

- RAM = HyperX Fury (HX436C17FB3K2/16) Mémoire 16GB 3600MHz DDR4 CL17 DIMM (Kit 2x8GB)

I would like to switch my GPU and CPU.
If I do that should I also get a new Power Supply and Motherboard?

If so could you help me pick the following new components to update my config:
- CPU / GPU / Power Supply (only if necessary) / Motherboard (only if necessary)

I have a budget around 1000€. I would like my new PC built for 24th November in order to be able to enjoy the launch of shadowlands.

Main games/activities:
- CoD Warzone / Cold War
- Overwatch
- Hearthstone
- World of warcraft
- VR (via Occulus link > Occulus Quest)

Thanks a million guys !
Kind regards.

1. What is the purpose of the computer? What all applications and games are you going to run? (Be exact. Which games? Which applications? Avoid the word 'et cetera.' Vague answers like 'gaming' or 'office work' will not work.)
Ans:
Main games/activities:
- CoD Warzone / Cold War
- Overwatch
- Hearthstone
- World of warcraft

- VR (via Occulus link > Occulus Quest)

2. What is your overall budget? If you can extend a bit for a more balanced configuration, then please mention.

Ans: 1200€ MAX (so around 100K Indian Rupee)

3. Planning to overclock?

Ans: No.

4. Which Operating System are you planning to use?

Ans: Windows 10

5. How much hard drive / solid-state drive space is needed?
Ans: I have a 1T HD and a new 1T SSD.

6. Do you want to buy a monitor? If yes, please mention the screen size and resolution you prefer. If you already have a monitor and want to reuse it, then do mention the screen size and resolution of the monitor you have.
Ans: I will in the future buy a 1440p monitor but not before next year.
Currently I own a Acer Predator XB241HBMIPR (1920x1080)

7. Which components you DON'T want to buy? i.e. which components you already have and plan on reusing?

Ans: I already have and will re-use the following components :

- SSD = Samsung SSD Interne 970 EVO Plus NVMe M.2 (1 To)
- RAM = HyperX Fury (HX436C17FB3K2/16) Mémoire 16GB 3600MHz DDR4 CL17 DIMM (Kit 2x8GB)

IF POSSIBLE (only) I will try to reuse :
- Power Supply : Cooler Master B600 v2, 600W

8. When are you planning to buy the system?
Ans: Before 23rd November

9. Have you ever built a desktop before? Or, will this be done by an assembler?
Ans: This will be done by me and my brother who has more experience.

10. Where do you live? Are you buying locally? Are you open to buying stuff from online shops if you don't get locally?

Ans: I live in Luxembourg and am open to buy from online shops.

11. Anything else which you would like to say?
Ans: /

@omega44-xt does Luxembourg have global amazon/newegg equivalent or delivery with not much shipping charges.

Ok I searched a bit & it seems using amazon.co.uk or amazon.de for ordering to Luxembourg is quite good.

Try these:
CPU - R5 5600X - 300 ??
Mobo - MSI B550 Tomahawk - 150
GPU - RTX 3070 FE/ RX 6800 - 500/580 ??
PSU - Corsair RM750 - 115
Total - EUR 1065/1145

Sadly R5 5600X & RTX 3070 are kind of in limited stocks & scalpers are buying & reselling at a mark up. RX 6800/6800Xt are coming out on 18th, might face the same issue. So grab that CPU & any of the 3 GPUs mentioned as soon as you see one with decent price. Asus TUF & MSI Gaming X are great RTX 3070 GPUs, 3070 FE runs a bit hot but is still good enough (you are lucky to find one at decent price).
