The British Library today announced its first partnership with Google, under which Google will digitize 250,000 items from the library’s vast collection of work produced between 1700-1870.

Well I heard, that Google was abandoning the efforts to digitize the books, since it thought that it isn't worth the effort.

I have used the offline library of British Council in Kolkata for a few 6 or 8 months, when I was staying in Kolkata for some study purpose.

Its a great library and kolkata has some rare collection of literatures and also has one of the oldest offline library ----- National Library.
